
Five new ambassadors accredited to the Democratic Republic of Congo presented their credentials to the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, this Friday, 18/11/22, during a protocol ceremony organized at the presidential residence of Mont Ngaliema. They are H.E. Mohamed Yaziv Bouzid of Algeria, with residence in Kinshasa, H.E. Margaret Constance Kamoto of Malawi, with residence in Lusaka, Zambia, H.E. Mary O’Neill of Ireland, with residence in Dares-Salaam, Tanzania, H.E. Shimon Solomon of Israel, with residence in Luanda, Angola and H.E. Aguibo of Mali, with residence in Brazzaville, in the Republic of the Congo. Mohamed Yazid Bouzid, Algeria’s new ambassador to the DRC, was born on 7 October 1965 in Tizi Ouzou, Algeria. He holds a doctorate in Political Science and International Relations. He served as Director for Central and East Asia at the MFA (2019-2022). He was a journalist for the daily El-Khabar and the Economic Review. He is married and has 4 children. Margaret Constance Kamoto, Malawi’s new Ambassador to the DRC, was born on 2 April 1959. She graduated in Business Administration from Leeds Metropolitan University, England. She graduated in International Relations, in France. Ms Mary O’Neill is Ambassador of Ireland to the Republic of Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Burundi, Seychelles and the Union of the Comoros. Prior to joining her country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she had a distinguished career in development cooperation in Mozambique, Cambodia, South Sudan, Uganda and Ethiopia. Israeli Shimon Solomon was born on May 8, 1968. A former member of the Parliament of Israel (Knesset), he served as program director of philosophy and guidance in education and advisor to the Minister of Education. Aguibo Diallo, Mali’s new ambassador to the DRC, is based in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo. He served as Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of his country. He was also Head of the Malians Abroad Section at the National Directorate of Political, Legal and Consular Affairs. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Chief of Staff of the Head of State attended the ceremony to present the credentials.
