A few days after the working visit of the former President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, designated facilitator under the Nairobi process, this Sunday evening, the President of the Republic of Kenya, William Ruto arrived in Kinshasa for an official visit.
This first official visit by the Kenyan President is part of the Nairobi process in view of the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation in North Kivu province.
Welcomed at N’djili International Airport by the VPM and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Christophe Lutundula and Professor Serge Tshibangu, Special Proxy of the Head of State, the Kenyan President will meet this Monday morning his Congolese counterpart Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo.
The two Heads of State will have a tête-à-tête this Monday morning at the Palace of the Nation followed by a bilateral meeting between the delegations of the two states.
At the end of this summit meeting, the two Heads of State will appear before the press to report on their exchanges.
Since his election to the presidential election last September, President William Ruto had made a commitment to pursue the policy of rapprochement between the DRC and his country Kenya as well as the good offices within the framework of the so-called Nairobi peace process on the disarmament and demobilization of armed groups active in the eastern provinces of the country.
